New Jersey Statutes Appendix - Former Title 3A Administration of Estates Decedents and Others 3A § 32-1

If real estate, in which there is an estate for life, either in dower, by the curtesy or otherwise, is chargeable with any assessment for local or public improvements, and is or may become liable by force of law to be sold for the payment of such assessment, the superior court may, in a summary or other action, in which shall be joined all persons having any interest in the real estate, direct a person designated by the court for that purpose, to sell such real estate, either in whole or in part, as shall be deemed for the best interest of the persons interested therein.
