The superior court may direct a fiduciary to rebuild, repair or renovate or make additions to, or replace with new buildings and structures, or in any manner to improve any buildings or structures upon real estate held by the fiduciary or in which his ward has an interest, where the real estate shall have been destroyed in part or in whole by fire or other casualty and to enter into contracts therefor.
The desirability, suitability and cost of such improvements shall be subject to the discretion of the superior court and the improvements may be made according to the plans of the building or structure destroyed or according to other plans.
