The department of justice shall have authority to destroy, sell, or dispose of any and all obsolete equipment, uniforms, or parts of obsolete equipment or uniforms. Any money received from the sale of these items must be deposited into the state treasury in the fund and to the credit of the accounting entity from which it was originally purchased.
