§ 8.8. Appropriations for the improvement, development, addition or expansion of services for the care, treatment, and training of persons who have intellectual disabilities or subject to involuntary admission under the Mental Health and Developmental Disabilities Code 1 or for the financing of any program designed to provide such improvement, development, addition or expansion of services or for expenses associated with providing services to other units of government under Section 5-107.2 of the Mental Health and Developmental Disabilities Code, 2 or other ordinary and contingent expenses of the Department of Human Services relating to mental health and developmental disabilities, are payable from the Mental Health Fund. However, no expenditures shall be made for the purchase, construction, lease, or rental of buildings for use as State-operated mental health or developmental disability facilities.
