If the membership in a fraternal benefit society of a person responsible for the support of a child on whose account a benefit certificate has been issued terminates, the certificate may be continued for the benefit of:
(1) the child's estate, if payment of the premiums is continued; or
(2) any other person responsible for the support and maintenance of the child, if the person assumes the payment of the required premiums.
