(a) An entity that delivers or issues for delivery in this state a Medicare supplement benefit plan or certificate that replaces a Medicare supplement benefit plan or certificate shall give credit for the satisfaction or partial satisfaction of any waiting period, elimination period, or probationary period for a preexisting condition that has been satisfied under the plan being replaced.
(b) A replacement plan that clearly provides a new or additional benefit may include appropriate and clearly stated periods as a condition for payment of the new or additional benefit.
