(a) The department or the Department of Aging and Disability Services, as appropriate, may transfer a person with mental illness or an intellectual disability who is infected with tuberculosis to a public health hospital as defined by Section 13.033.
(b) The person may be transferred without that person's consent.
(c) The cost of maintaining and treating the person at the Texas Center for Infectious Disease shall be paid from appropriations to that hospital.
