To the extent that a special ad hoc municipal police postretirement adjustment granted by the Commonwealth causes the calculation of total benefits to be paid to a member of a police force receiving retirement benefit to exceed the limitations contained in the act of May 29, 1956 (1955 P.L. 1804, No. 600), 1 referred to as the Municipal Police Pension Law, the police pension fund may exceed the limitations therein provided to pay the adjustment to the retired or disabled member.
