Pennsylvania Statutes Title 53 P.S. Municipal and Quasi-Municipal Corporations § 881.201. Purpose

This article shall provide for the uninterrupted continuation of retirement plans established under the act of June 4, 1943 (P.L. 886, No. 371),  1 known as the “Municipal Employes' Retirement Law.”  It shall also provide for the enrollment of municipal employes of new municipalities joining the system, at the contribution rates and benefit rates outlined in this article of the act.
