The township treasurer, if an individual, shall give bond with a surety company in an amount established by the board of supervisors for the faithful performance of the duties of the office. The amount of the bond shall equal the highest amount of township funds estimated by the board of supervisors to be available to the township treasurer at any time during the current year. The bond shall be filed with the board of auditors of the township.
