Pennsylvania Statutes Title 53 P.S. Municipal and Quasi-Municipal Corporations § 24970. Unsafe building may be closed

It shall be within the power of the mayor, after full report from the department of public safety, to cause the closing up of any theatre, opera house or public hall where, in the judgment of the mayor and the department of public safety, the ingress and egress are not reasonably safe for the safe and speedy exit of the audience in case of fire or panic.
