To regulate the construction and inspection of fire places, chimneys, stoves, stove-pipes, ovens, boilers, kettles, forges, or any apparatus used in any building, manufactory or business, and to order the suppression or cleaning thereof when deemed necessary for the prevention of fires; to regulate or prohibit the manufacture, sale, storage or transportation of inflammable or explosive substances within the city, and to prescribe limits within which no dangerous, obnoxious or offensive business shall be carried on.
