Pennsylvania Statutes Title 53 P.S. Municipal and Quasi-Municipal Corporations § 16960. Recorder of deeds not to record unregistered deeds

The recorder of deeds of said city is hereby authorized and directed to refuse to admit any deed to record bearing date since the first day of July, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-five, excepting deeds conveying title to ground rents, until the same is properly registered, as directed by the act to which this is supplement,  1 and upon any violation of this law by the sheriff, clerk or prothonotary, of any court, register of wills or recorder of deeds he shall be subject to a fine of five dollars, and an indictment for misdemeanor in office.
