Any person, firm, or corporation letting for use or occupation, or causing or permitting to be used or occupied or let for use or occupation, for dwelling purposes, any house or other building in violation of the provisions of this act, or neglecting to maintain such fixture or source of water-supply in accordance with the provisions of this act, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor; and upon conviction thereof shall be subject to a penalty of ten dollars for each month, or portion thereof, for which each such house or other building shall be occupied for such purposes in violation of this act, or during which the maintenance of such fixture or source of water-supply in the condition provided in the first section of this act 1 shall be neglected or omitted.
