Pennsylvania Statutes Title 50 P.S. Mental Health § 7116. Continuity of care

(a) It shall be the responsibility of the facility administration to refer those voluntary and involuntary patients discharged from State institutional programs to the appropriate county mental health and mental retardation program.

(b) The county mental health and mental retardation program shall, pursuant to Article III of the “Mental Health and Mental Retardation Act of 1966,”  1 receive referrals from State-operated facilities and shall be responsible for the treatment needs of county residents discharged from institutions pursuant to Article II and III of this Act.  2
