Pennsylvania Statutes Title 31 P.S. Food § 167. Payment of expenses

And all charges, accounts and expenses of the department for the enforcement of this act, through the said commissioner  1 and his deputies, agents, assistants, chemists and counsel employed by him in carrying out the provisions of this act, shall be paid by the treasurer of the state in the same manner as other accounts and expenses of the said department are paid.
