Every person who is a credentialed alcoholism and substance abuse counselor pursuant to subdivision (d) of section 19.07 of this article who provides treatment or counseling services at a substance use disorder facility, shall, within eighteen months of the effective date of this section or within one year of commencing the provision of any such treatment or counseling, whichever shall be later, successfully complete a course of instruction relating to medication assisted treatment approved by the office.
