New York Consolidated Laws, Judiciary Law - JUD § 411-a. Court attendant in Herkimer county

The county judge and surrogate of the county of Herkimer is hereby authorized by and with the consent and approval of the trial justice of the supreme court, residing in Herkimer county, to appoint a court attendant in and for the supreme and county courts in Herkimer county, whose duty it shall be to attend the various terms of such courts held in and for the county of Herkimer and act as attendant and court crier thereat and to perform such other services as shall be required and designated by said justice and judge.  Said court officer shall possess all the power of an officer designated by the sheriff to attend upon the court and shall receive such salary as shall be fixed from time to time by the board of supervisors of Herkimer county.
