Each of the attendants appointed for the supreme court in the county of Richmond, shall receive a salary to be fixed by the justice or justices residing in Richmond county, or by a majority of them; such salary, so fixed, shall be subject to the approval of the board of estimate of the city of New York, in its discretion, and shall be a county charge.
