Those responsible for the operation of a place where a child has been placed under section one thousand fifty-five may petition the court for leave to return the child to the court and for good cause shown be released from responsibility under the order of placement. After hearing, the court may grant the petition and make any order, including an order of placement, that might have been made at the time the order of placement was made.
