Whenever the driver of a vehicle is directed by a peace officer or vehicle safety inspector in pursuance of assigned duty, to stop and submit the mechanical condition of the vehicle or its equipment to an inspection or test under conditions stated in NRS 484D.560, such driver shall stop and submit to such inspection or test. A failure or refusal so to do or to cease operation when required is a misdemeanor.
