Upon application made by an appropriate prosecuting authority, the compensation officer, hearing officer or appeals officer may suspend any proceedings being conducted pursuant to NRS 217.010 to 217.270, inclusive, for such period as the officer deems appropriate on the ground that a prosecution for an offense arising from the act or omission to act on which the claim for compensation is based has been commenced or is imminent.
