The territorial treasurer and the auditor shall keep their offices at the seat of government; they shall be commissioned by the governor, and shall, before entering on the discharge of their duties respectively, execute and deliver to the governor a bond to the territory in a sum of at least three thousand dollars, to be approved by the governor, conditioned for the faithful discharge of the duties required, or which may be required of them by law.
