The assessors and public officials of the municipalities of the State concerned with the application of the provisions of chapters 4 and 4a of Title 54 of the Revised Statutes shall co-operate with the Division of Taxation to the extent required by the director thereof and shall assist the director in distributing the forms provided for in section 3 of this act. 1 On or before June 1, 1963, such assessors and public officials shall furnish to the director a list of the names and addresses of the taxpayers within their jurisdiction to whom they have mailed or distributed such forms. The director, within the limitation of available appropriations shall reimburse such municipalities for any costs incurred by them for printing and envelopes and for the cost incurred for postage used in mailing.
