New Jersey Statutes Title 46. Property .46 § 16-3

Leases or deeds of conveyance of any railroad or canal located and constructed in more than one county of this state, made or to be made, shall and may, when acknowledged or proved and certified as provided by this title, be recorded in the office of the secretary of state, in a book by him to be provided for that purpose.
