a. A person who is a full-time employee of a municipal welfare agency, or who works on a full-time basis for municipal welfare agencies in two or more municipalities, on the effective date of P.L.1995, c. 259 (C.40A:4-6.1 et al.) who is transferred to the county welfare agency of the county in which the municipality is located pursuant to section 28 of P.L.1995, c. 259 (C. 44:8-145.1), shall suffer no reduction in renumeration or the length of service credited to that employee.
b. A county and municipality may arrange, subject to mutual agreement, for one or more former municipal welfare agency employees who are employed by the county welfare agency to continue to provide services from a municipal building.
