A Vietnam veteran, upon being accepted to pursue a course of study for an initial undergraduate degree in a public institution of higher education of this State as enumerated in N.J.S.18A:62-1, shall be entitled to tuition assistance, while enrolled as a student in good standing at that college, in an amount up to the full tuition cost as determined by the Department of Military and Veterans' Affairs pursuant to section 17 of this act.
