a. When bonds, mortgages, shares of stock, other securities or other property come to a fiduciary as part of the assets which he is to administer, or as part of the estate he is to control or manage, the fiduciary may institute proceedings before the court by which he was appointed or which has jurisdiction of his accounts for direction as to the sale, conversion or retention as an investment of such securities.
The court shall make such order and direction in the premises as it shall deem most advantageous to the estate or trust fund and the interests of persons entitled to share therein.
b. A fiduciary continuing to hold securities as investments in accordance with an order or direction of court pursuant to this section shall not be held accountable for any loss by reason of such continuance. This section shall not be deemed to limit the effect of any provision of this article.
