6. That the said commissioners, and their employees, shall be entitled to receive, for the duties performed under this act, such compensation as the justice of the supreme court holding the circuit in Bergen and Passaic counties, or in his absence, as the president judges of the courts of common pleas of said counties shall deem reasonable, the costs of which shall not exceed four hundred dollars; all the charges and expenses of executing the duties hereby imposed on the commission, inclusive of recording and filing the oath of office, and survey, and of advertising, shall be taxed by the said justice, or by the said judges, and equally paid by the said counties, not exceeding the sum aforesaid.
