(1) Except as otherwise provided in this chapter, the Mississippi Rules of Evidence and Mississippi Rules of Civil Procedure, including rules concerning appellate review, govern a proceeding under this chapter.
(2) Proceedings for a guardianship and conservatorship for the same individual may be commenced in a single proceeding, and if separate proceedings are commenced or pending in the same court, the proceedings may be consolidated.
(3) If the court finds that a provision of this chapter conflicts with a provision of Title 35, Chapter 5, Mississippi Code of 1972 (Uniform Veterans' Guardianship Law), the court must resolve the conflict in the best interest of the ward.
