The costs incurred in the administration of this law shall be paid from the general revenue fund of this state; provided, however, that the director shall, and he is hereby authorized to, enter into agreements with agencies of the federal or state government which control grants of money to the state for the administration of state laws enacted pursuant to the federal Social Security Act 1 or other federal laws or regulations whereby the actual costs incurred in connection with the examination, selection, promotion, transfer or discipline of employees of divisions of the service charged with the administration of said laws shall be paid, in whole or in part, from funds granted for the administration of such laws.
