Minnesota Statutes Crimes; Expungement; Victims (Ch. 609-624) § 609.107. Mandatory penalty for certain murderers

When a person is convicted of violatingsection 609.19or609.195, the court shall sentence the person to the statutory maximum sentence for the offense if the person was previously convicted of a heinous crime as defined insection 609.106and 15 years have not elapsed since the person was discharged from the sentence imposed for that conviction. The court may not stay the imposition or execution of the sentence, notwithstandingsection 609.135.
