The commissioners at their first meeting after the filing of the petition shall order notice of the time and place of meeting, to consider the petition, to be published once in each of three successive weeks in a newspaper, if any, published in the county; otherwise, in a newspaper published in an adjacent county. They shall also give notice thereof to the clerk of each town where the land lies.
