Massachusetts General Laws Part III. Courts, Judicial Officers and Proceedings in Civil Cases (Ch. 211-262) Ch. 237, § 39

If the amount due from the remainderman or reversioner is not agreed on by the parties, it may be determined in a civil action brought by the remainderman or reversioner; and the proceedings shall be the same as in a suit for the redemption of a mortgage.
