Following the juror orientation program, a member of the court shall personally appear before the jurors and make a brief welcoming address. The office of jury commissioner, with the approval of the committee, may prepare suggested guidelines for the format and content of the welcome to the jurors. Unless the court orders otherwise, members of the public may be present in the juror pool during the welcoming address for educational purposes.
