The sale of methyl alcohol or wood alcohol, so called, or any preparation containing methyl alcohol as described in section three hundred and three A by a person not licensed as required by sections three hundred and three A and three hundred and three B, or by a licensee to a person under sixteen years of age or to any person without reasonable investigation and inquiry to determine that the same is not to be used for drinking purposes, shall constitute the offence of unlawful sale of alcohol and may be described as such in any complaint or indictment without more; but a person so charged shall be entitled to a bill of particulars in accordance with section forty of chapter two hundred and seventy-seven.
