The commission shall further be responsible for updating the Massachusetts water supply policy statement at intervals which shall not exceed five years. The commission shall incorporate any recommendations of municipalities and regional planning agencies as appropriate, and shall include, as appropriate, consideration of coordination of wastewater management, and shall submit a report of its findings to the clerk of the house of representatives and to the clerk of the senate at the completion of each update of the policy statement.
