In addition to the duties imposed by law upon the treasurer of a bank, or the officer or employee thereof charged with the duties and functions usually performed by the treasurer, such officer shall also be responsible for the performance of all acts and duties required of such corporation by chapters 167, 167A to 167J, inclusive, 168, 170, 172 and other laws as such provisions are applicable to such officer or to such bank except in so far as such performance has been expressly imposed on some other officer or employee of such bank by its regulations or by-laws or by provision of law.
