Whenever used in this chapter, unless the context otherwise requires, the following words or terms shall have the following meaning:--
“Executive office”, the office of planning and programming established under chapter six C.
“Intercity coach”, any vehicle with a seating capacity of forty or more, and which is appropriate for the provision of long distance highway travel or commuting.
“Intercity bus carrier”, any entity possessing legally required certification, issued by an agency of the commonwealth, or any political subdivision thereof, for the carriage of passengers for hire between fixed and regular termini.
“Intercity service”, the movement of passengers between two or more distinct municipalities.
“Secretary”, the administrator of transportation for mass transit within the department of transportation.
