Massachusetts General Laws Part I. Administration of the Government (Ch. 1-182) Ch. 126, § 21

The keeper of a jail or master of a house of correction to which a female has been committed shall forthwith transmit to the commissioner of correction such an abstract of the mittimus upon which she has been committed as he may require.
