Adoption support under this act shall not continue: (a) Beyond the time that the adopted child reaches eighteen (18) years of age, unless such adopted person is participating in an educational or training program approved by the secretary, in which case adoption support under this act shall continue until such adopted person becomes twenty-one (21) years of age or until such adopted person ceases participation in an educational or training program approved by the secretary, whichever occurs first; or (b) beyond the time that the adopted child becomes emancipated, dies or otherwise ceases to need support.
