All officers regularly appointed by the board shall be qualified under the provisions of article 56 of chapter 74 of the Kansas Statutes Annotated, and amendments thereto, but any officer may receive a temporary appointment pending completion of the requirements for a certificate attesting to the satisfactory completion of the required number of hours of accredited instruction at the law enforcement training center.
