Any peace officer attempting to make examination of records kept under the requirements of this act without being able to show that a theft of poultry has been reported to him or her and that he or she is engaged in the performance of duty in searching for a thief or thieves, or any peace officer making a fraudulent examination of the records kept under the requirements of this act, shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be punished by a fine of not less than $25 or imprisonment in the county jail for a period of not less than thirty days.
