§ 6-107.4. Temporary driver's license; applicant under 18. The Secretary of State may issue a temporary driver's license to an applicant under the age of 18 permitting the operation of a motor vehicle when the Secretary of State is unable to produce a driver's license due to an equipment or computer program failure or lack of necessary equipment, if the applicant is not otherwise ineligible for a driver's license and has met all the requirements of Section 6-107. The temporary driver's license must be in the applicant's immediate possession while he or she is operating a motor vehicle. The temporary license is invalid if the applicant's driver's license has been issued or for good cause has been refused. The Secretary of State may issue this temporary driver's license for any appropriate period not exceeding 30 days.
