§ 12-15. Civil Recoveries. Any person, firm, corporation, association, agency, institution or other legal entity who, without intent to violate this Code, obtains benefits or payments under this Code to which he or it is not entitled, or in a greater amount than that to which he or it is entitled shall be liable for any excess benefits or payments received.
The Attorney General, or the State's Attorney in actions involving a local governmental unit, may initiate court proceedings to recover benefits or payments obtained under this Code to which a person or entity is not entitled.
