§ 1905-50. Violations of Coal Mining Act.
(a) The Department has the power to investigate violations of the Coal Mining Act 1 and regulations issued pursuant to that Act; to institute criminal proceedings for prosecution of such a violation; and to institute civil actions for relief, including applications for temporary restraining orders and preliminary and permanent injunctions, or any other appropriate action to enforce any order, notice, or decision of the Director, the Mining Board, the Department, or the Director of the Office of Mines and Minerals.
(b) The Department has the power to call or subpoena witnesses, documents, or other evidence for the purpose of conducting hearings pursuant to the Coal Mining Act and to administer oaths and compensate witnesses pursuant to that Act.
