Iowa Code Title II. Elections and Official Duties [Chs. 39-79] § 43.46. Delivering returns

The precinct election officials shall deliver all election supplies, by noon of the day after the close of the polls, to the commissioner who shall carefully preserve them and deliver the returns in the condition in which received except as is otherwise required by sections 50.20 through 50.22, to the county board of supervisors.
