Each authorized health maintenance organization and applicant for a certificate of authority shall comply with the provisions of ss. 626.989 and 626.9891 as though such organization or applicant were an authorized insurer. For purposes of this section, the reference to the year 1996 in s. 626.9891 means the year 2000 and the reference to the year 1995 means the year 1999.
