In addition to the criminal penalties and remedies set forth in this chapter, the administrator may, after notice and hearing pursuant to chapter 54, 1 levy a civil penalty of not more than one hundred dollars for a violation of any of the provisions of this chapter, except for section 21a-340. Each such violation of this chapter shall be a separate and distinct offense and each day's continuance thereof shall be deemed to be a separate and distinct offense. Such penalty shall be deposited into the consumer protection enforcement account established pursuant to section 21a-8a.
