California Code, Unemployment Insurance Code - UIC § 1557

Money in the Unemployment Administration Fund shall not be commingled with other state funds, but shall be maintained in a separate account on the books of the depositary. Such money shall be secured by the depositary in which it is held to the same extent and in the same manner as required under Chapter 4, Part 2, Division 4, Title 2 [FN1] of the Government Code, if deposited in a bank, or under Chapter 4.5 (commencing with Section 16600) of Part 2 of Division 4 of Title 2 of the Government Code if deposited in a savings and loan association and collateral pledged shall be maintained in a separate custody account.
